Macau Hotels

Macau offers a wealth of top end hotels (M$1300-M$2000) catering to the tourists here with money to spend. Many of these places are very luxurious. The Hotel Lisboa is the most famous and one of the best. There are other less well known but equally good hotels in this range however. The Poucada de Sao Tiago is a gorgeous renovated old fortress offering quality accommodation and sumptuous decor.

There are some good mid range (M$300-M$1300) places here too, with great locations and good service. The Fortune hotel is a nice place in a great location, just minutes from the main streets and casinos. The Westin Hotel has nice rooms and a pretty location on Coloane Island.

During weekends or major holidays such as Chinese New Year, Easter, the Macau Grand Prix (third weekend in November) or the tourist season from July to August, early reservations are recommended, as rooms tend to fill up quickly.

Macau is a city that largely caters to those with money. Saying this however, there are a few budget options here although many of them are in need of renovation! The San Va Hospedaria is a safe bet however with decent rooms and good service.
