Anhui Province, belted by the Yellow River and lying near the middle of the eastern
China region, has a easy climate, with distinct four seasons and fairly manageable
temperatures, despite high rainfall. Annual average temperatures are between 13 and 16
degrees C., and precipitation is between 700 and 1,200 millimeters per annum. Most of the sights in the province are within the central to southern regions and so
all are hit by fairly similar weather. Hefei, the capital, is typical
of much of the province"s areas, with rain falling heavily in the transitional periods
between spring/summer and summer/autumn. Anhui"s two most famous mountains, Jiuhuashan and
Huangshan, are located not far
apart, and both receive similar weather, with mysterious fogs, "seas of cloud"
and frequent rain. In the winter months, the areas are often hit by snow or
covered with
ice, making the scenery beautiful but a little dangerous. |
