Hubei cuisine is hot! So be prepared. But stay calm; it"s not as hot as that of Sichuan
and Hunan. Hubei dishes are juicy and quite varied, with common cooking techniques
including braising, frying, grilling and stewing. The cuisine can be divided into three
distinct regions: Wuhan,
Jingzhou and Huangzhou.
Try them all for variations on a delicious theme. With its numerous lakes, Hubei is a great place to try out lotus root. Other
characteristic dishes include chicken slices with golden-needle mushrooms, steamed bream,
gluten-meat pouches, instant boiled fish with tangerine pulp, mandarin fish in tomato
