Day 1:
Drive from Shanghai to
Xitang, an ancient town known for its bridges, house lanes and veranda
passages. After sightseeing in the old town, board an afternoon train to
Hangzhou,
the capital of Zhejiang province. Upon arrival, transfer to your
hotel. Day 2:
Cruise the West Lake, visit the ancient
Lingyin Buddhist Temple, and take
a private tour of a silk factory to see the spinning, weaving and embroidering
of Hangzhou"s luminous silk. Day 3:
Travel by bus to Qiandao (Thousand Islets) Lake and enjoy a relaxed cruise
around the lake. Day 4 and 5:
Get a train to Jinhua, where you can enjoy the unique mountain and river
scenery. There are also many caves here which you can explore. Day 6:
Get the train to Ningbo (Train 1037 takes about 6 hours, departing at 09:52).
Here you can stay overnight in a
hotel and then catch a boat to
Putuoshan Island the next
day. Day 7 and 8:
Get up early and get a boat to
Putuoshan. Here you can enjoy the temples,
beaches, relaxing atmosphere and great seafood on offer. From here you can either get a boat back to Ningbo and then return by bus or
train to Hangzhou, or continue on to other destinations in China. Or
you can choose to get a boat straight back to Shanghai. |
